The Tortuga Ranch is a working cattle ranch located in Cuervo, NM.  It is a very secluded property, yet conveniently located only 20 minutes east of Santa Rosa, and 30 minutes west of Tucumcari. It is 1760 acres of rolling grassland surrounded by gorgeous mesa views.  This ranch has consistently run 50 cow/calf pairs year round or 150 head of yearlings.  This is a perfect location for cattle, horses, outdoor recreation, and hunting. The possibilities are endless.  

     The headquarters consists of a 1680 sq ft home with three bedrooms, two baths, wood burning stove, central heating, metal roof, wood siding, and a 16x30 carport.  There is a 12 X 24 bunk house with a wood burning stove.  It also features a new metal storage 40 X 20 building/garage/shop with 110/220 electricity, a 20 X 30 shop with garage, a storage shed, a 20 X 20 horse barn, and a set of cattle working pens with great fence throughout the ranch.  The property is generously watered by 3 windmills and one solar pump, 5 earthen dams, approximately one mile of pipeline, and two wells equipped with submersible electric motors that service the headquarters. Well depths range from 65 to 90 ft.  

     There is a set of cattle working pens and good fences throughout the ranch.  Hunting in this area consists of mule deer, antelope, coyote, rabbit, turkey and quail.  This enchanting property is very versatile. Fossils and arrowheads can be found throughout the land and there are still remains from old homestead rock buildings.  So much is left to be discovered on this property.
